Wire and Cable

When looking for a wire and cable, there are specific sizes to select from. Any wire and cable that you choose may have a different level of an electrical current. Examples of different wire and cable are a 500 MCM wire, THHN or Romex cable and wire. A THHN is a copper electrical wire and it is the most basic form of an electrical wire and cable. It is utilized in houses, buildings and control circuits that do not exceed over 600 Volts of electricity.

The THHN wire and cable, compared to the 500 MCM wire, is so common that the largest manufacturing company in the United States decided to put both ratings on all of their THHN building wire and cable. A THHN wire and cable is connected through houses and other buildings to light switches, electrical outlets and light fixtures. The THHN wire, not to be mistaken with the 300 MCM wire, is easier to guide through difficult areas.
